Volunteer

L.E.A.R.N. welcomes new volunteers! After all, the more volunteers we have, the more Labs we can save and the more people we can reach.  Our organization relies solely on volunteers and donations. Volunteer efforts can be as minimal or extensive as you are able to provide. Some key volunteer areas that directly help save Labs are:

  • Foster Home - learn about and care for a rescued Lab until adopted.
  • Transport – move a rescued Lab from one destination to another; deliver supplies to foster homes or Petfairs/Events.
  • FUNdraising – work within your community to help raise funds and build awareness for L.E.A.R.N.
  • Petfair Events – set up and spend time in a L.E.A.R.N. booth to raise awareness for our rescue.

If you would like to volunteer with L.E.A.R.N, please complete and submit a Volunteer Application. We will be in touch with you as soon as possible!

Foster Homes

The backbone of our organization is foster homes. The more foster homes in our network, the more dogs we can save. If you would like to join the L.E.A.R.N. team and be a foster home, please complete and submit our Foster Home Application.

Foster homes provide a safe home, consistent training, and basic obedience. Some Labs we rescue have never experienced good care and a positive environment. Most importantly, the foster home ensures that the Lab’s medical needs are met, plays a role in making sure the Lab’s forever home is a good match, and prepares the Lab for adoption.

L.E.A.R.N. provides each foster home with a Foster Home Handbook and our experienced volunteers and foster homes are happy to help with questions.
